Summer Is Here! Minnesota Snow Wolves Are Ready for Heat Waves

Minnesota loves to go to extremes, from -30 oF polar vortexes to 105 oF heat waves. The sweet spring only stayed in Minnesota for a few weeks, and suddenly summer swept the state. Guess what time did Snow Wolves Runners get up for group run on Saturday? 6:00 AM!

If you are wishing for a perfect weather for running in MN, you might get extremely disappointed–the lengthy snowy winters, and the moist hot summers. However, snowwolves runners always have the superpower to find the best moments on weekends to enjoy the breeze, the sunshine, and the fun of gatherings. I still vividly remember a morning in April, when many snowwolves runners were stuck in the heavy rain. Runners were staying underneath a bridge, or an eave, waiting for the chance to run back to the pavilion. That was a memorable morning, indeed, because the Boston Marathon Runners gave a wonderful sharing lesson after the group run. Their suggestions included: 1. Don’t get injured. 2. Boston Marathon is cool, highly recommended.

The other memorable group event we had in the first half of the year was Snow Wolves Spring Run on May 21st. In Chinese, “521” has very similar pronunciation as “我爱你“, meaning “I love you. This was such a perfect time to express gratitude to this beautiful spring (very short one), and lovely family and friends.

We always complain about the weather, but we never stop running. Our fellow runners just completed their Grandma Marathon races in Duluth MN two weeks ago, and many more runners have started their trainings for fall races. Participating Twin Cities Marathon (TCM) in October is a Snow Wolves tradition near our home. Chicago Marathon will also be a big one snow wolves love to go–only 6 hours driving distance. Stay tuned.

If you want to find snow wolves runners, we are still active on running routes. Why aren’t afraid of the heat waves? Because snow wolves are always cool.
